Kyle Edmund to miss Great Britain's Davis Cup tie with Spain

Kyle Edmund will play no part in Great Britain's Davis Cup tie with Spain after failing to recovering from a hip injury.

Kyle Edmund has been ruled out of Great Britain's Davis Cup tie with Spain after failing to recover from a hip injury.

Edmund reached the Australian Open semi-finals last week, although the British number two struggled with a hip problem during his last-four defeat to Marin Cilic.

Edmund travelled to Marbella in an attempt to return to full fitness - and make the transition to clay - but the decision has been made to leave the 23-year-old on the sidelines.

Cameron Norrie and Liam Broady will now represent Great Britain, with both players making their debuts for their country in the World Group tie.

Broady will open the contest against Albert Ramos-Vinolas, before Norrie goes head to head with Roberto Bautista Agut.
