James Ward gets nod for Great Britain in Davis Cup

James Ward is confirmed in Great Britain's Davis Cup side for the quarter-final tie with France later this month.

Great Britain Davis Cup captain Leon Smith has selected James Ward in his side for the quarter-final tie with France.

Before Wimbledon, Ward faced competition from Kyle Edmund for the second spot behind Andy Murray, but his third-round appearance at SW19 was enough to seal his spot.

Smith has also selected Jamie Murray, who has reached the men's doubles semi-finals at Wimbledon, and Dominic Inglot.

France have included Gilles Simon, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Richard Gasquet and Nicolas Mahut in their squad for the contest that begins on July 17.
