Leon Smith expecting "tough" John Isner test in crucial Davis Cup tie

Leon Smith insists that Great Britain's Andy Murray could be in for a "difficult" test when he comes up against America's John Isner in a crucial Davis Cup rubber.

Great Britain captain Leon Smith has warned Andy Murray against complacency as he prepares to take on USA's John Isner in a crucial Davis Cup rubber.

Dominic Inglot and Jamie Murray tasted defeat against doubles twins Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan on Saturday afternoon, but victory for Andy later today would be enough to send Britain through to the next round.

The two-time major winner is said to be feeling confident heading into the match, although Smith, wary of a 2-1 lead that his side let slip against Italy last year, has a word of caution for the Scot.

"John Isner is going to be a tough, tough test," he is quoted as saying by ESPN. "He's pushed Andy before, he's going to serve well against anyone - even one of the best returners in the world - and if he gets to a breaker and catches fire with one return, it's difficult.

"Andy is going to be well aware that he's going to have to play very good tennis, but I do think it's well set up for him."

If Murray fails to triumph, all eyes will be on fellow Brit James Ward, who takes on Donald Young later in the day.
