Novak Djokovic comes through Roberto Bautista Agut test at Roland Garros

Novak Djokovic is through to the fourth round of the French Open after battling past Roberto Bautista Agut on Friday afternoon.

Novak Djokovic has booked his place in the French Open fourth round with victory over Roberto Bautista Agut.

The former world number one is slowly regaining form after his recovery from injury, and the 2016 champion battled hard to register a 6-4 6-7 7-6 6-2 win over the Spaniard.

One break of serve was enough for Djokovic to take the opener but Bautista Agut was always competitive and took a second-set tie-break by an 8-6 scoreline to level the match.

The two players shared six breaks of serve during a back-and-forth third before Djokovic took a tie-break 7-4, but it was one-way traffic during the fourth.

Djokovic hit 10 winners and struck three times on the Bautista Agut serve to finally wrap up progress through to the last 16 in three hours and 48 minutes.

The Serbian will now face Fernando Verdasco, who defeated fourth seed Grigor Dimitrov earlier on Friday.
