Britain's Dan Evans suffered a collapse against Frances Tiafoe of the USA to crash out of the Stockholm Open in the quarter-finals.
The 31-year-old downed Spain's Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in straight sets to set up a clash with Tiafoe and dominated the opening proceedings to storm to a 6-1 first-set win.
However, Tiafoe hit back to take the second set by the same score and set up a deciding third set, where Evans had no answer to the American's prowess and suffered a 6-1 1-6 1-6 defeat.
Evans has therefore missed out on the chance to set up an all-British semi-final, with Tiafoe set to face either Andy Murray or compatriot Tommy Paul for a spot in the final.
The British number two will now prepare for this year's Davis Cup Finals, where he will link up with Cameron Norrie, Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski.
