Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova has booked her place in the third round of the Madrid Open with a three-set win over Jelena Jankovic.

The Russian started strongly and took the first set 6-2, but Jankovic fought back to win 7-5 in the second.

In the third set, Pavlyuchenkova came back from 4-1 down to force a tie-break, which she eventually won 7-3.

Pavlyuchenkova will now face Ana Ivanovic, who beat fellow Serbian Bojana Jovanovski in their second-round tie.
