Victoria Azarenka has claimed her first win in the White Group after defeating US Open champion Samantha Stosur in the WTA Championships.
The 22-year-old eased to victory with a 2-6 2-6 after the world number seven, who defeated Maria Sharapova yesterday, failed to make an impact on the court.
The Australian, who has never defeated Azarenka in a competitive match, started off the opening set on the front foot claiming the first game to love.
However, after a flood of mistakes the Belarusian managed to take control of the match and go one set to love with ease.
The Australian continued a slump in form by gifting the double break to her opponent in the early stages of the second set.
Despite Stosur's attempts to draw level, the world number four was composed throughout the contest and claimed the second set and her first win of the group.
