British pair Heather Watson and Johanna Konta have booked their places in the main draw of the Wuhan Open after they both progressed through their final-round qualifying matches on Saturday.
Watson, who has struggled for form since Wimbledon, broke the serve of Yulia Putintseva on six occasions as she secured a 6-2 6-4 victory.
Konta, fresh from her fourth-round appearance at the US Open, dropped just three games on the way to an emphatic 6-2 6-1 success over American Irina Falconi.
Victoria Azarenka, Andrea Petkovic, Roberta Vinci and Jelena Jankovic are four of eight possible first-round opponents for Watson and Konta, who are both vying for the British number one position.
