Novak Djokovic has booked his place in the last eight of the Rogers Cup after beating American Sam Querrey in straight sets in Toronto.
The Serbian top seed claimed the opening set 6-4 with one break of serve proving enough for him to take control.
Djokovic then broke instantly at the start of the second before a lengthy rain delay put a halt to proceedings.
When play resumed the five-time Grand Slam champion saw off Querrey 6-4 to set up a quarter-final clash with Tommy Haas or Radek Stepanek.
