Australian Lleyton Hewitt has claimed that he still has the same motivation to do well in major tournaments 12 years after winning his first Grand Slam.
The 32-year-old, who is currently ranked 57th in the world, will go up against Brian Baker in the first round of the US Open, which gets underway today.
"The ranking doesn't bother me whatsoever," Hewitt told Fairfax Media. "It's more about having good results and playing well. I still get really motivated for the majors, and that's the main part that still drives me."
Meanwhile, British number one Andy Murray will begin the defence of his title at Flushing Meadows against Michael Llodra tomorrow.
