Nick Kyrgios keen to learn from Stanislas Wawrinka incident

Nick Kyrgios believes that he will learn after being fined for making inappropriate comments about Stanislas Wawrinka's girlfriend during a recent match.

Nick Kyrgios has said that he hopes to learn from an incident during a recent match with Stanislas Wawrinka which saw him fined and given a suspended ban by the ATP.

The Australian made remarks about the French Open champion's girlfriend during a match at the Rogers Cup in Montreal, resulting in the 20-year-old being handed a $25,000 (£15,845) fine and 28-day suspension if he breaches the governing body's rules on improper conduct within the next six months.

Following his defeat to Andy Murray in the first round at the US Open, Kyrgios told reporters: "I thought I've been dealing with that pretty well. Obviously it's been tough. But I think I've moved on from it.

"I'd like to think that I'm going to learn from it. I think I have. I think I'm on the right path. I don't think any of us in this room now were perfect at 20."

Kyrgios was warned by the umpire for swearing during his match, while also throwing his racquet in the defeat to Murray.
