Madison Keys survives scare to reach quarter-finals

Madison Keys overturns a set deficit to beat Olga Govortsova and reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the first time in her career.

Madison Keys has reached the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the first time in her career with a three-set win over Olga Govortsova.

The 21st seed dropped the opening set to the qualifier before eventually prevailing by a 3-6 6-4 6-1 scoreline.

Govortsova, who came into the contest on a six-match winning streak, wasted little time in moving a set ahead, before she established a 4-3 lead during the second.

However, Keys, who reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open earlier this year, improved to take nine of the next 10 games to book her spot in the last eight.

The American will now play the winner of the match between Agnieszka Radwanska and Jelena Jankovic.
