Serena Williams reaches fourth round of Wimbledon

Defending champion Serena Williams reaches the fourth round of Wimbledon after crushing Annika Beck 6-3 6-0 on Centre Court.

Serena Williams has reached the fourth round of Wimbledon after crushing Annika Beck 6-3 6-0 on Centre Court.

The six-time Wimbledon champion needed just 52 minutes to overcome her German opponent, who had no answer to the power on display from the defending champion.

It was actually Beck that secured the first break of the match at 1-1, but Williams then secured back-to-back breaks of her own, before holding twice to close out the first set 6-3.

Beck competed well in the first, but Williams had too much in the second set - taking just 20 minutes to record a 6-0 victory and advance into the second week of the Grand Slam in London.
