Olympic flag handed over to Pyeongchang as Sochi draws to a close

The Sochi Winter Olympics are officially handed over to the South Korean city of Pyeongchang at the event's closing ceremony.

The Winter Olympics, which have just taken place in the Russian town of Sochi, have been officially handed over to the South Korean city of Pyeongchang, who will be hosting the event in 2018.

Inside the Fisht Olympic Stadium, Sochi mayor Anatoly Pakhomov handed the Olympic flag over to Seok Rae Lee, the mayor of Pyeongchang, before the anthem of the Republic of Korea was played in the arena.

A performance showcasing the East Asian nation then took place in the stadium, as the Winter Games in Sochi were officially drawn to a close.

The spectacle finished with a display saying "See you in Pyeongchang".
