Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has been taking reps with the team's third-string during practice this week.
Manziel has recently admitted that he will need to earn his place in the Browns team, despite being selected during the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
The 21-year-old watched on as Brian Hoyer took first-team snaps, with Tyler Thigpen backing him up.
When Manziel did get a chance on the field NFL Network Aditi Kinkhabwala reporter said via Twitter: "Manziel throws with some serious zip. Can't match Hoyer's accuracy yet or understanding of WR routes. But hey it's May 21."
Browns coach Mike Pettine has stated that his quarterbacks are embracing the competition between each other, but Manziel's spot down the depth chart suggests that he won't be an automatic starter despite the hype he was drafted with.
Former Texas A&M Aggies star Manziel won the Heisman Trophy in 2012 and was widely expected to be a top-five selection when the Draft was held in New York earlier this month.
