Jabaal Sheard wants Cleveland Browns stay

Cleveland Browns linebacker Jabaal Sheard reveals that he wants to stay at the club beyond when his current deal expires at the end of the 2014 season.

Cleveland Browns linebacker Jabaal Sheard has expressed his desire to stay at the club beyond when his current deal expires.

The 25-year-old is entering the last year of his rookie contract after being drafted in the second round of the 2011 Draft by the club, and will earn under $1m (£596,000) for his exploits in the 2014 season.

"Hopefully it works out. Love it here, want to be here when [the] city erupts," Sheard told the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram.

Sheard recorded 36 tackles and 5.5 sacks for the Browns last season.
