The Houston Texans have taken a 14-10 lead into half time of their AFC South clash with the Jacksonville Jaguars this evening, keeping alive their hopes of sneaking into the playoffs.
The Texans made a strong start to the match, forcing a punt on the opening possession before Case Keenum guided his side downfield. The hosts took the lead at the end of that quick drive as Keenum found Arian Foster, who scrambled in from 10 yards out.
Jacksonville responded, however, and got themselves on the board through a 53-yard Josh Scobee field goal to reduce to deficit.
The visitors then moved into the lead towards the end of the opening quarter when Dwayne Gratz picked off a Keenum pass and returned it 55 yards for a touchdown.
Houston were back ahead in the second period, however, with Alfred Blue making his way over the line from a yard out to make it 14-10 to the playoff hopefuls.
A victory for Houston, combined with the San Diego Chargers losing to the Kansas City Chiefs, would be enough for them to clinch the AFC wildcard spot.
