New Zealand boxer Eric Finau has revealed that he is desperate to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games this summer.
The middleweight got his challenge off to a perfect start on Saturday afternoon, beating Tongan Sosefo Falekaono to advance into the next round.
"The atmosphere is great in the camp and in the stadium here today. It was a really good crowd," he told Sports Mole immediately after the bout.
"For me, I am still young and this is my first Games and I have never been to a tournament this big before."
When asked if gold was the target this summer, Finau responded: "That is what I am hoping, I want a medal to take home."
Finau will face Siphiwe Lusizi in the next round on Monday.
