Bacary Sagna has insisted that he does not regret joining Manchester City last summer, despite former side Arsenal sitting above the defending champions in the Premier League table.
Manuel Pellegrini's club have slipped to fourth in the table in recent weeks, while the Gunners have emerged as Chelsea's main rivals for the title.
When asked if he regretted the move to the Etihad, the French international, who has played just 16 times in all competitions this season, told the Manchester Evening News: "No, not at all. I see a lot of comments from fans saying I should have stayed at Arsenal but if I had to do it again, if I had to come back and sign for City, I would have done it again.
"When I signed I just wanted to come, give the maximum, and give my best for the club then after, it's life, no? I got used to playing every game with Arsenal and here I expected good competition because we have some top quality players.
"Here the squad is very big, so I expected the situation, I expected the rotation and what's happened, so I'm not surprised. I'm happy because I came to the champions."
Sagna spent seven years with Arsenal after joining the London side from Auxerre in 2007.
