Arsenal transfer target Alexander Isak is reportedly willing to stay with Newcastle United as long as one key condition is met.

Arsenal transfer target Alexander Isak is reportedly prepared to stay at Newcastle United if the club secure Champions League football for next season.

Isak has been in fine form for Eddie Howe's side this season, racking up 12 goals in 17 top-flight appearances to leave him in joint third place in the Premier League scoring charts.

The Sweden international has scored in each of Newcastle's last six Premier League games, including a hat-trick in a 4-0 over Ipswich Town earlier this month.

Isak also scored the opener in Monday's 2-0 away win over Manchester United, helping the Magpies move up to fifth spot and to within three points of the top four.

The forward's impressive performances demonstrate why he is such a key player for the Magpies, and why he is also attracting transfer interest from a number of potential suitors.

Isak willing to stay at Newcastle on one condition

Arsenal are among those who have been credited with an interest, as the Gunners look to add to their current striker options of Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz.

However, according to The Sun, Isak is willing to stay at St James's Park if one key condition is met, potentially dealing a blow to Arsenal's hopes of securing his signature.

The report claims that the former Real Sociedad forward is prepared to continue his association with Newcastle as long as the club qualify for the Champions League.

Isak is desperate to compete in UEFA's top club competition, and he feels that he can achieve that goal with his current employers.

The Magpies are firmly in the hunt to secure Champions League qualification for the second time in three seasons after appearing in the competition in 2023-24.

Could Isak's asking price also dent Arsenal's hopes?

In another blow to Arsenal, The Telegraph recently reported that Newcastle will demand in excess of £150m to part ways with Isak.

The Magpies are keen to ward off Isak's potential suitors, with the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona also believed to be showing an interest.

Newcastle have no plans to budge on their mammoth asking price, especially as they are under no pressure to sell due to the player's contract situation.

Isak still has three-and-a-half years left to run on his Newcastle deal which will expire in the summer of 2028.

There is also a possibility that the Magpies will look to negotiate a fresh contract with Isak at the end of the current season.
