Arsenal officials reportedly arrive in Germany to hold talks about Borussia Dortmund hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal officials have allegedly arrived in Germany to hold talks with Borussia Dortmund over the proposed transfer of hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

A group of Gunners executives led by CEO Ivan Gazidis has travelled to the country to thrash out a deal for the Gabon international, Bild reports.

Arsenal are said to have tabled a club-record bid for Aubameyang, which will exceed the £52m they paid for Alexandre Lacazette last summer, and are now locked in ongoing negotiations with Dortmund.

Arsene Wenger's side have reportedly discussed a straight cash deal, but the Bundesliga giants are said to have expressed interest in a part-exchange which would see Olivier Giroud move in the opposite direction.

The Gunners are lining Aubameyang up as a replacement for Manchester United-bound Alexis Sanchez, whose move north could see Henrikh Mkhitaryan arrive at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Arsenal are in ongoing negotiations with playmaker Mesut Ozil over a new contract.
