Arsenal to consider Luka Jovic loan deal?

Arsenal may reportedly consider a late loan deal for Real Madrid striker Luka Jovic after conceding defeat in their pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic.

Arsenal will reportedly consider a loan deal for Real Madrid outcast Luka Jovic as a last resort in the January transfer window.

The Gunners have seemingly conceded defeat in their pursuit of Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic, who is thought to be on the verge of a £56.2m transfer to Juventus.

Mikel Arteta is still reported to be keen to bring in a new striker before the January window closes for business, with Alexander Isak and Dominic Calvert-Lewin thought to be on Arsenal's radar.

Now, The Athletic reports that Real Madrid outcast Jovic is another potential option, with the Gunners possibly ready to consider a loan deal for the former Eintracht Frankfurt man.

The report adds that Jovic's clinical finishing and link-up play has caught Arsenal's eye, but those inside the club are concerned about the 24-year-old's defensive work rate.

Jovic has failed to make his mark at the Santiago Bernabeu since arriving in the summer of 2019 - scoring just three times in 47 matches - and he has not made a single start in the 2021-22 La Liga season.

Jovic has one goal and two assists from 15 appearances in all tournaments this season and is contracted to Real Madrid until the summer of 2025.
