Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly hoping to hijack Arsenal's deal to sign Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus, who could cost in the region of £50m.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly hoping to hijack Arsenal's deal to sign Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus.

The 25-year-old is seemingly set to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer following the arrivals of Erling Braut Haaland and Julian Alvarez, and Mikel Arteta's side are believed to be the current frontrunners for his signature.

A recent report claims that Jesus is edging closer to joining the Gunners, and an announcement of his arrival at the Emirates Stadium could be made before the end of the week.

However, The Mirror states that Spurs are set to rival their North London counterparts for the signature of Jesus, and they are hoping that Champions League football will persuade the forward to link up with Antonio Conte.

The report adds that Conte is impressed by the Brazil international's versatility as he is comfortable operating as either a central striker or a winger.

Jesus, who has also been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Juventus, will likely seek assurances over regular first-team football before deciding on his preferred destination.

The former Palmeiras youngster, who has just 12 months remaining on his Man City contract, has scored 95 goals and provided 46 assists in 236 appearances for the Citizens across all tournaments since joining the club in January 2016.
