Tony Pulis unconcerned by Tim Sherwood comments

West Brom boss Tony Pulis refuses to rise to comments from Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood saying that the Baggies would "have to improve" to progress in the FA Cup.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has turned his attention to the FA Cup following his side's dramatic 2-1 defeat at the hands of local rivals Aston Villa on Tuesday night.

Ben Foster's late error gifted Villa a last-minute penalty in the Midlands derby, which Christian Benteke duly tucked away to hand Tim Sherwood his first win in charge of the club.

With the two teams due to meet once again in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday, Sherwood claimed that the Baggies would "have to improve" if they are to prevent his side from reaching the last four, but Pulis refused to rise to the comments.

"Did he [say that]? Like I say, we'll take Saturday's game as it comes. I'll have a look at what the squad is like and then we'll go from there," Pulis told reporters.

"[The fans] might think Wembley and Saturday was more important, it wasn't for me. The next game is always the most important. If Ben didn't make a mistake we'd be very happy."

West Brom are bidding to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the first time since 2008.
