Jack Grealish close to Aston Villa return

Tim Sherwood reveals that Jack Grealish could return for Aston Villa's trip to Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has revealed that Jack Grealish could return for the team's trip to Crystal Palace this weekend.

The midfielder has missed Villa's first two matches of the new Premier League season due to a hamstring problem.

However, after Grealish scored the winning goal for the club's Under-21s against Derby County earlier this week, Sherwood has suggested that the 19-year-old could travel to Selhurst Park on Saturday.

"The Derby match was a good workout for the boys. They need games - the lads who haven't been playing. It was a good fitness exercise first and foremost," he told Villa's official website.

"I thought Jack was very good. He played to the last minute. He looked fit enough to maybe be up for selection this weekend."

Villa are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table with three points from a possible six.
