Team News: Antoine Griezmann returns for Atletico Madrid

Antoine Griezmann is among the players to return to the Atletico Madrid starting XI for their La Liga clash with Celta Vigo.

Antoine Griezmann has returned to the Atletico Madrid starting XI for their La Liga clash with Celta Vigo at the Estadio de Balaidos this evening.

The Frenchman leads the line alongside Luciano Vietto for the title-chasers as Fernando Torres drops to the bench following his midweek start in the Copa del Rey.

Diego Simeone has made nine changes overall to the side that drew with Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday, with Diego Godin, Koke and Gabi among the other players to return this evening.

Jose Gimenez and Augusto Fernandez are the only players to keep their place from the midweek side as Atletico look to move top of the La Liga table with a win.

Celta, meanwhile, make six changes of their own to the side that cruised past Cadiz on Thursday, including a return up front for Iago Aspas.

Theo Bongonda and Pablo Hernandez are among the other players to return, but John Guidetti drops to the bench despite scoring twice in the midweek outing.

Celta Vigo: Alvarez; Mallo, Cabral, Gomez, Castro; Radoja, Wass, Orellana, Hernandez, Bongonda; Aspas
Subs: Guidetti, Drazic, Madinda, Planas, Sene, Diez, Fernandez

Atletico Madrid: Oblak; Juanfran, Gimenez, Godin, Luis; Saul, Gabi, Fernandez, Koke; Vietto, Griezmann
Subs: More, Torres, Martinez, Savic, Correa, Gamez, Ferreira Carrasco
