Craig Cathcart suffers heart complaint

Blackpool defender Craig Cathcart will miss the club's playoff semi-final with Birmingham City on Friday after suffering with a heart complaint.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has confirmed that Craig Cathcart has been suffering from a heart complaint.

The 23-year-old defender will miss the club's playoff semi-final against Birmingham City on Friday, but he is expected to make a full recovery.

"Craig Cathcart has got a bit of a problem around his heart at the moment where he's having palpitations, so we're getting that checked out," Holloway told Sky Sports News.

"Hopefully we're going to get a monitor and get him checked. His heart is slightly larger than it probably should be. They're going to try and find out exactly what it might mean."

Cathcart joined Blackpool from Manchester United in 2010.
