Marco Reus unsurprised by emphatic Borussia Dortmund opener

Marco Reus says that he was not surprised to see Borussia Dortmund rout Borussia Monchengladbach 4-0 in their Bundesliga opener.

Marco Reus has claimed that he is unsurprised over the emphatic manner in which Borussia Dortmund kicked off their Bundesliga season.

Dortmund thrashed Champions League outfit Borussia Monchengladbach 4-0 at Signal Iduna Park on Saturday as the Thomas Tuchel era got off to a flying start.

"I wasn't surprised by how well things went. This was our first big test, we knew Gladbach would pose a threat," the Germany international told reporters.

"They're in the Champions League this season and were the best team in the second half of last season, but we put them under a lot of pressure.

"Not an awful lot has changed from last term. We were calm in attack and played the right ball at the right times. Even after going ahead we wanted to keep attacking."

Reus opened the scoring, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan adding further goals before the break, as the latter collected his brace in the second half.
