Richard Money: Cambridge United "making too many mistakes"

Struggling Cambridge United are "making too many mistakes", according to manager Richard Money.

Cambridge United manager Richard Money has conceded that his side are currently "making too many mistakes".

The U's are without a victory in their last seven outings - form that has seen Money's men drop to 19th in the League Two standings and just five points above the relegation zone.

Speaking after their latest defeat - 2-0 at home to Bury - Money admitted that hard work is the only way that the team are going to get out of the slump.

"The reality is we're in a period in the season where we're just making too many mistakes," he told the Cambridge Evening News.

"Some of them are big mistakes that cost us a goal, but there are a lot of little mistakes – a miscontrol, a misplaced pass, miss a header, don't get in the right position for a second ball, on the heels.

"It's all evidence that the team is a little bit edgy and a bit nervy. We're trying really hard to get them on the front foot, get out of the trenches, take all the bullets that keep coming and work hard."

On Monday, Cambridge will travel to Sixfields to take on Northampton Town.
