Celtic striker Georgios Samaras says that he is not planning to leave the club at the end of the season.

Greek striker Georgios Samaras has insisted that he has no intention of leaving Celtic in the summer.

Recent reports have suggested that after almost six years in Scotland, the 28-year-old may look for a new challenge at the end of the current campaign.

However, Samaras has revealed that he is more than happy to continue his career with Celtic because he plays football to win trophies rather than earn more money elsewhere.

"I play football because I love it. I want to have great memories when I have retired. These memories are about winning games and trophies, not the money. I love this club. I have been here six years and I feel that I have more to give," he said.

"I am 28 and I do not know how long I will play football, maybe seven or eight years, maybe 10 years, maybe 12. I like to live my life in the now. I do not know what will happen in the future. I feel nice at this club so we will see what happens."

Samaras joined the Bhoys in January 2008 from Manchester City.
