Andreas Christensen: 'We made it difficult'

Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen backs his side to bounce back from Saturday's 3-2 defeat to Burnley on the opening weekend of the new Premier League campaign.

Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has said that it is important for his team to move on quickly from Saturday's shock 3-2 home defeat to Burnley in the Premier League.

Second-half goals from Alvaro Morata and David Luiz gave Chelsea hope of a comeback in London, but three first-half efforts from Burnley saw the Clarets collect all three points from Stamford Bridge.

Christensen was a first-half substitute for Chelsea after club captain Gary Cahill had been sent off, and the 21-year-old, who is back with the Blues following a loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach, is already looking ahead to next weekend's trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

"Everyone knows what's happened today. We are proud of our second half, we fought well, but we'd made it difficult for ourselves. Now we have to look forward," Christensen told reporters.

"It felt like, once we scored our first, the belief grew in the stadium and the noise, everything, went to a higher level. In the end we could have got something from the game. We have to work in our next game at Tottenham how we played in the second half today."

Christensen has scored seven times in 81 appearances for Bundesliga side Monchengladbach over the last two seasons.
