Roberto Di Matteo dedicates Birmingham City win to Andre Villis-Boas

Chelsea caretaker Roberto Di Matteo dedicates his side's 2-0 FA Cup win over Birmingham City to sacked former manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Chelsea caretaker Roberto Di Matteo has dedicated his side's 2-0 FA Cup win over Birmingham City to sacked former manager Andre Villas-Boas.

The 41-year-old Italian, who has been put in charge by Roman Abramovich until the end of the season, also dismissed claims that his squad are split and unhappy.

He said: "We had to stand up for ourselves and be counted. This win is for Andre.

"The players had to show it out on the pitch. They have to show responsibility to themselves, the club, the supporters, our boss and everybody.

"It is for their own good as well. We are a happy family. Tonight everybody is happy."

As a player, Di Matteo made over 100 appearances for the Stamford Bridge club.
