Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe predicts that on-loan defender Nathan Ake has "a big future" in the sport as he continues to impress at the Vitality Stadium.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has said that Nathan Ake can have "a big future" in the sport if he continues his recent form.

Versatile Dutchman Ake - who is loan from Chelsea - has scored twice in his last four fixtures for the Cherries, who during that time have defeated Stoke City and Liverpool, as well as testing Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Ake could not help Bournemouth avoid defeat at Burnley on Saturday, but that has not stopped his manager praising his role in the team.

The 39-year-old told reporters: "Nathan Ake had another good game [against Burnley]. One of his strengths is his versatility and he's destined for a big future in the game."

Ake has made 12 appearances for parent club Chelsea, while he featured 28 times during a loan spell with Watford last season.
