Aston Villa beat Chelsea in NextGen Series final

Aston Villa record a 2-0 win over Chelsea to be crowned NextGen Series winners in Lake Como.

Aston Villa have beaten Chelsea 2-0 in Lake Como to become NextGen Series champions, thanks to a brace of penalties from Graham Burke.

The young Villans were forced to defend early on as Lewis Baker and Islam Feruz both went close in the first 20 minutes.

In the second half Villa took control and opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Alex Davey brought down Callum Robinson.

Burke made no mistake to give Villa the lead, with Alex Kiwomya sent off late on as Chelsea chased an equaliser.

In stoppage time Burke converted a second penalty as Villa secured a memorable win in the competition designed to match elite academy players from across the continent.
