Chelsea will reportedly not stand in Olivier Giroud's way if he decides to leave the club in January in search of more regular first-team football.

Chelsea are reportedly willing to let Olivier Giroud leave the club during the January transfer window as the striker goes in search of more regular first-team football.

The 34-year-old came close to leaving Stamford Bridge last January only for manager Frank Lampard to convince him to stay and subsequently hand him more chances in the second half of last season.

However, a busy summer has since seen Giroud slip further down the pecking order and the World Cup winner is yet to start a single Premier League game so far this season.

Giroud recently suggested that he could be forced to consider his options with one eye on next summer's European Championship, and The Athletic reports that Chelsea are willing to grant him an amicable exit due to his service to the club over the past three years.

A final decision over his future is not expected until closer to the January window, but Serie A outfit Inter Milan are among the clubs to have been linked with a move for the France international.

Giroud has scored 29 goals and set up 14 more in 95 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions.
