Radamel Falcao, James Rodriguez named in Colombia World Cup squad

Colombia stars Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez have been named in Jose Pekerman's final 23-man squad for this summer's World Cup.

The Monaco striker will captain the side, while Rodriguez, the top scorer at the 2014 tournament in Brazil, also makes the cut.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina, Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez and Brighton & Hove Albion forward Jose Izquierdo are the three England-based players who will represent La Tricolor in Russia.

Deportivo Cali midfielder Abel Aguilar and AC Milan defender Cristian Zapata both received the nod from head coach Pekerman on Monday despite facing fitness problems.

Juventus winger Juan Cuadrado, Villarreal's Carlos Bacca and Barcelona defender Yerry Mina are also selected for Los Cafeteros, who kick off their World Cup campaign against Japan on June 19, before facing Poland on June 24 and Senegal on June 28.

Goalkeepers: David Ospina (Arsenal), Camilo Vargas (Deportivo Cali), Jose Fernando Cuadrado (Once Caldas).

Defenders: Cristian Zapata (Milan), Davinson Sanchez (Tottenham), Santiago Arias (PSV Eindhoven), Oscar Murillo (Pachuca), Frank Fabra (Boca Juniors), Johan Mojica (Girona), Yerry Mina (Barcelona).

Midfielders: Wílmar Barrios (Boca Juniors), Carlos Sanchez (Espanyol), Jefferson Lerma (Levante), Jose Izquierdo (Brighton), James Rodriguez (Bayern Munich), Abel Aguilar (Deportivo Cali), Mateus Uribe (America), Juan Fernando Quintero (River Plate), Juan Cuadrado (Juventus).

Forwards: Radamel Falcao (Monaco), Miguel Borja (Palmeiras), Carlos Bacca (Villarreal), Luis Muriel (Sevilla).
