Derby County defender Tom Naylor signs a short-term loan deal with League Two club Newport County.

Derby County defender Tom Naylor has joined League Two club Newport County on a loan deal until January.

The 22-year-old has been signed by the Welsh side as a replacement for the injured Byron Anthony.

"Tom has gone on loan for six months, which is great for him," Derby boss Nigel Clough is quoted as saying by WalesOnline.co.uk.

"Newport are on a high at the moment, so it's a good chance for him to get some football under his belt."

Naylor joined Derby from Mansfield Town in 2012 following a loan spell at Pride Park.
