Reports suggest that Roma are lining up a January bid for Everton defender John Heitinga.

Roma are reportedly considering a January move for Everton defender John Heitinga.

The 30-year-old Dutch international is yet to make an appearance this season and his contract expires in the summer.

According to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, the Giallorossi are keeping tabs on the former Atletico Madrid man as uncertainty clouds the future of Nicolas Burdisso.

The Argentine is also a free agent in the summer and is said to be keen on returning to Boca Juniors after nine years in Italy.

Fiorentina are also reported to be interested in Heitinga.
