Francesco Totti: 'Juventus will again win Serie A crown'

Roma director Francesco Totti says that Juventus will land an eighth successive Serie A title this year.

Roma director Francesco Totti has said that Juventus will land an eighth successive Serie A title this year, leaving his team to battle for the positions between second and fourth.

Juve have won the Italian title in each of the last seven campaigns and further strengthened during the summer transfer window with the addition of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo is yet to register for Juve, but the Old Lady are the early leaders in Serie A having won all three of their fixtures at the start of the 2018-19 campaign.

Totti has claimed that Massimiliano Allegri's team "are in a championship of their own", and will once again triumph.

"Juventus are in a championship of their own, there's no competition," Totti told Roma Radio. "But all the other major championships have had difficulties.

"It's been a long time since Roma won a title, but other teams aren't doing it either: only Juventus wins. We're all in the same position.

"Roma have to try to finish between second and fourth, and qualify from the group stage of the Champions League. We have to stay united and compact."

The last team other than Juve to win the Serie A title was AC Milan back in 2011, during which season the Old Lady finished down in seventh position.
