Giuseppe Marotta: 'Juventus hope to extend Paul Pogba deal'

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba could sign a new Juventus deal, according to CEO Giuseppe Marotta.

Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta has denied that clubs in France are likely to sign central midfielder Paul Pogba when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Marotta said that there is no basis to the rumours that Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco want to sign the player and believes instead that the Frenchman will sign a new deal to stay in Italy.

"The rumours about Pogba's move to PSG are groundless," Sky Sports News quotes Marotta as saying. "We want to keep Paul and extend his deal.

"It's true that £58m will be a really good sum, but Juventus are a club who aim always to get to the top, to win trophies.

"In the past there have been similar sacrifices, but this is not the case. And anyway today, we haven't concrete offers, so there is nothing to talk about."

Pogba has been capped eight times by France.
