Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is reportedly considering having surgery in the United States in order to solve a recent hip problem and bring an end to his injury woes.
The England international has had a stuttering season due to numerous injuries, including recurring thigh issues.
Earlier this week, Reds manager Brendan Rodgers revealed that the 25-year-old is likely to miss the rest of the season due to his latest injury setback.
Today, the Northern Irishman told reporters in his press conference: "We've found some underlying issue related to Dan's problems. Staff here are liasing with great medics in America. Daniel wants to be available, it's unfortunate for him on the back of how fantastic he was last season."
According to The Express, Sturridge flew out to Boston this week and will discuss the possibility of surgery with the medical staff recommended by Liverpool owners Fenway Sports Group.
The forward, who has made just 11 starts this season, spent Christmas in the American city undergoing rehabilitation on a previous injury.
