Tuesday's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup: Roberto Firmino, Adama Traore, Conor Coady

Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer talk for Liverpool on Tuesday, October 27.

The summer transfer window has now closed and attention will begin to turn to January for Premier League champions Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp's side brought in Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas during the summer, making for one of their busier transfer windows in the last couple of years.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Anfield.

Tuesday morning's Liverpool transfer talk news roundup:

Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly placed a £90m valuation on attacker Adama Traore.

The 24-year-old is yet to score or provide an assist in seven appearances for Wolves this season but was in impressive form during the 2019-20 campaign, contributing six goals and 12 assists in 54 outings.

Both Manchester United and Liverpool have been credited with an interest in the former Barcelona youngster, who has a contract at Molineux until the summer of 2023.

However, according to Calciomercato, Wolves have signalled that they would not be prepared to sell the Spain international for a fee of under £90m.

Traore has not started any of his side's last three Premier League matches and only played the final 22 minutes of Sunday's 1-1 draw with Newcastle United.

Barca are also believed to be closely monitoring the attacker as they consider re-signing him.

Mark Lawrenson: 'Liverpool should move for Conor Coady in January'

Conor Coady would be a "ready-made" replacement for Virgil van Dijk as Liverpool look for a new centre-back, according to former Reds defender Mark Lawrenson.

Van Dijk is expected to miss the entirety of the 2020-21 campaign with the serious knee injury that he picked up during the Merseyside derby with Everton on October 17.

Brighton & Hove Albion's Ben White, RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano and Schalke 04's Ozan Kabak have all been linked with moves to Anfield over the last few days.

However, Lawrenson has claimed that Coady's organisational skills and experience in the Premier League makes him an ideal signing for the Premier League champions.

"I would think Virgil will be out for the season. I think it's a write-off because you've got to get match fit and that's almost impossible nowadays because they don't play reserve team football," Lawrenson told The Argus.

"If Liverpool are going to pay big money for somebody in January, they want absolutely ready-made. Conor Coady has had loads of shouts and he is a very good organiser who has played lots of games in the Premier League."

The 27-year-old came through the youth system at Liverpool but only made two first-team appearances for the club before leaving permanently for Huddersfield Town in 2014.
