Jamie Carragher admits that he is yet to be convinced by Loris Karius after the Liverpool goalkeeper's late error against Bournemouth gifted the Cherries a 4-3 win.

Jamie Carragher has described Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius as "nowhere near good enough".

The German stopper conceded four goals in a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Bournemouth, his mishandling of a routine shot allowing Nathan Ake to score a late winner at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the match, Carragher felt that Karius was also at fault for the Cherries' second goal, when substitute Ryan Fraser fired home.

"It's nowhere near good enough from the goalkeeper [for Fraser's goal]," the Reds legend said. "This goalkeeper is yet to convince me - in any game - that he's of the required standard.

"The seven or eight games he has played, and I know it's still early days and who knows how he will do over the next two or three years, but it has to be a massive improvement from him.

"He hasn't done anything yet in those games to impress me."

Liverpool remain third in the Premier League table, four points behind first-placed Chelsea.
