Ryan Taylor says that picking up all three points is all that matters at this stage of the season.

Ryan Taylor has said that securing all three points is the most important thing ahead of the final eight games of the season.

The Newcastle United midfielder, whose side are in sixth place in the Premier League, admits that he has added incentive this week when the Magpies host his hometown club Liverpool.

"We want to keep the run we've had all season," he told the Evening Chronicle. "Three points for the team is all that matters.

"It is one of the games I look out for though. For us to finish above them would be a major achievement. If we beat them we've got a comfortable gap to push on in the last seven games."

Newcastle can extend the gap between the clubs to 11 points with a win at the Sports Direct Arena this weekend.
