Liverpool forward Divock Origi emerges as a potential transfer target for Barcelona, according to a report.

Barcelona could reportedly move for Liverpool forward Divock Origi during the January transfer window.

The Catalan giants have seen a number of their attackers struggle with injury problems this season, and the club are believed to be keen to boost their forward line at the start of 2022.

Barcelona CEO Ferran Reverter has revealed that the club have in excess of £17m to spend in the next transfer window if required, and according to Sport, Origi has emerged as a low-cost option.

The Belgium international's contract at Anfield is due to expire next summer, meaning that foreign clubs, as it stands, would be free to speak to him at the turn of the year.

Origi has struggled for regular action in the early stages of the 2021-22 campaign, making just four appearances in all competitions, just one of which has been in the Premier League.

The Belgian has found the back of the net on 36 occasions in 161 appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side in all competitions, in addition to contributing 16 assists, since arriving from Lille in 2014.
