Liverpool chiefs are reportedly mulling over a swoop for Gianluigi Buffon if the Juventus goalkeeper opts to prolong his playing career.
Buffon, who turned 40 earlier this year, suggested last summer that this would be his last season in football.
Following Italy's failure to qualify for the World Cup, though, combined with Juventus falling short in the Champions League - a competition the iconic keeper still has yet to win - he has been tipped to delay his retirement by a further year.
Premium Sport suggests that Liverpool are waiting to pounce if that proves to be the case, offering the former Parma shot-stopper a chance to experience life outside of his homeland.
The Reds are in the market for a new keeper, as back-up Simon Mignolet is expected to move on this summer after losing his place to Loris Karius.
