Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish is reportedly set for talks over a new deal with the club following contact from Manchester City.

Aston Villa are reportedly planning to reopen contract discussions with Jack Grealish amid firm interest from Manchester City.

The England international was heavily linked with a switch to Manchester United last year but ultimately elected to pen a new deal at Villa Park until the summer of 2025.

However, United's bitter rivals Manchester City are now rumoured to be plotting a swoop for Grealish, and the Premier League champions are now thought to be in direct contact over a move for the attacker.

According to the Express & Star, Grealish - who will soon return to Villa's training ground after his holiday - will soon hold crunch talks with the powers-that-be over a potential new deal.

The report adds that any further business that Dean Smith's side can conduct in the summer window will hinge on Grealish's future, but the club are not prepared to let up on their £100m valuation.

Grealish provided two assists for England at Euro 2020 and ended the 2020-21 Premier League season with 18 goal contributions to his name from 26 appearances.
