Manchester City will have to offer Atletico Madrid Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus as part of their bid for Spanish midfielder Rodri, according to a report.

Manchester City will reportedly have to part with Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus if they wish to sign Rodri from Atletico Madrid in this summer's transfer window.

City continue to be linked with a big-money swoop for Rodri, although it is thought that the Premier League champions are now facing competition from Barcelona.

According to The Sun, Atletico are willing to sell the midfielder this summer, but the Spanish giants have placed Jesus at the top of their wanted list to replace the outgoing Antoine Griezmann.

As a result, City must be willing to part with the 22-year-old in order to land Rodri - a potential long-term replacement for Fernandinho - ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign.

Jesus only managed seven Premier League goals during the 2018-19 campaign as he played second fiddle to Sergio Aguero for much of the campaign.

However, the 27-time international scored twice against Watford on Saturday as Pep Guardiola's side completed a domestic treble by winning the FA Cup.
