Lautaro Martinez has reportedly informed Inter Milan that he wants a contract worth in the region of £150,000 a week in order to commit his future to the club.
The 23-year-old was strongly linked with a move to Barcelona over the summer, but the Catalan giants could not afford to complete a deal due to the financial impact of the coronavirus outbreak.
There remains speculation surrounding the Argentina international, with Manchester City believed to be considering him as a replacement for Sergio Aguero.
A recent report, though, claimed that Inter are in talks with the striker over a new five-year contract.
According to The Mirror, Antonio Conte's side have offered the South American a new deal worth £86,000 a week, but Martinez wants close to £150,000 a week to commit his future to the club.
The report claims that the former Racing Club youngster is aware of the interest from City and will therefore push Inter to meet his demands over an extension.
The forward's existing deal at San Siro is allegedly worth just £38,000 a week.
