Manchester United confirm their 31-man squad for their pre-season tour of the United States, which begins with a clash against Arsenal.

Manchester United have confirmed their 31-man squad for their pre-season tour of the United States, with the likes of Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford included.

The Red Devils have already played two friendlies this summer, opening their preparations for the 2022-23 campaign with a 2-0 victory over Leeds United last week.

The 20-time English champions then beat Lyon 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon, with Donny van de Beek scoring the only goal of the contest early in the second period.

The majority of the club's first-team players were not involved against Lyon, having only returned to Carrington on Saturday for the pre-season training due to international commitments.

However, the familiar names are back for the USA tour, with Man United preparing to take on Arsenal in their opener on Saturday night.

A youthful side will then face Wrexham on July 26, before the first team take on Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund on July 26 and July 30 respectively.

Jonny Evans has not been named in the 31-man squad, but the centre-back will be involved against Wrexham, having signed a short-term deal to allow him to feature.

Evans played the second half of the win over Lyon on Wednesday, with the 35-year-old back at the club having left Leicester City on a free transfer at the end of June.

Dean Henderson is included amid the speculation surrounding his future, with the England international widely expected to move to Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis this summer, while Tom Heaton is also selected, but there is no Matej Kovar despite the 23-year-old featuring against Lyon and Leeds.

Summer arrival Mason Mount is on the plane alongside Antony, Van de Beek and Anthony Martial, who have all recently been sidelined with injury problems.

However, Fred is not in the selection, with a statement on Man United's official website revealing that the Brazilian is currently 'dealing with a personal issue'.

"One player who hasn't made the flight is Fred. The Brazilian has remained in the UK to deal with a personal issue, but he is expected to join up with the rest of the squad shortly," read the statement.

Eric Bailly has also been left out, with the centre-back set to leave Old Trafford this summer, while Alex Telles is on the verge of completing a move to Al-Nassr.

There is also no Rhys Bennett or Tyrell Malacia due to injury, but the likes of Radek Vitek, Dan Gore, Kobbie Mainoo, Alvaro Fernandez and Omari Forson are named in the squad.

Andre Onana is on the verge of completing a permanent move to Old Trafford from Inter Milan, and the Cameroonian should join up with the squad at a later date.
